Voiczy: the facts
What Voiczy is
Voiczy is a language-learning app for children. Children speak out loud with Leo, a real-time voice tutor, and learn with short word, sentence and maths games and bilingual story books.
Ages
Voiczy is made for children aged 3 to 14.
Languages
Each child learns one of these languages: English, Spanish, Chinese, French, German, Dutch, Arabic, Portuguese, Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Hindi, Italian, Turkish, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Polish, Finnish, and Persian.
Voiczy's website can be used in each of these languages too.
Price and trial
Voiczy Premium costs €7 a month, or €60 a year (€5 a month).
Try the free activities without a card. The 7-day full-access trial needs a payment method.
Voiczy's free activities need no card: the first 2 modules of vocabulary, sentences and maths, 2 story books, and a 5-message chat with Leo, the AI tutor.
Leo, the voice tutor
Leo is a kid-safe tutor your child actually speaks with — out loud, in real time. Your child talks in the language they are learning, and Leo answers out loud. With Voiczy Premium, each child can send Leo up to 40 messages a day.
Several children
One account holds up to 3 children. Each child has their own profile and learns their own language.
Devices
Voiczy works in a web browser on phones, tablets and computers. An Android app is being built; it has no release date yet.
What Voiczy doesn't do
Voiczy has no human tutors: Leo is an AI. Children can learn only the languages listed above. Voiczy doesn't promise that a child will reach a particular level.
Safety and data
Voiczy doesn't store children's voice recordings. When a child talks with Leo, each voice message goes to Google to be transcribed and is not kept. Leo runs on AI models from Google and OpenAI. OpenAI receives the chat text, with the child's first name, age, learning level, lesson and what Leo remembers from earlier chats, to write Leo's replies and the summary for parents. Voiczy keeps the text of the chats, a summary for parents and a few things Leo remembers about the child (such as interests), and reviews chats to improve how Leo teaches. All of it is deleted when the child's profile is deleted. Parents can turn Leo off for each child. Read the privacy policy.
