What children pick up quickly
Persian grammar is friendly: there are no genders, and one word covers he and she. Verbs follow regular patterns, and rhymes and short poems, which families often know by heart, stick well with young children.
What takes longer
Everyday speech is quite different from written Persian, so children have to learn both forms. The script also leaves out most short vowels, so new words are harder to read aloud at first.
